Monsanto Maize Hybrids Tops

Oct. 18, 2003 - Great news for Monsanto is that we have the top four slots for both East and West in the ARC maize trials for the 2002/2003 season!

In the East, DKC80-10 is top by 0.5 tons at 7.02 t/ha! Then comes DKC63-20 at 6.51 t/ha! Third is CRN3604 at 6.47 t/ha, and fourth is the top white hybrid, CRN3549 with 6.47 t/ha. CRN3505 (6.34 t/ha) was worse than CRN3549 in being ranked sixth, but I think its due to CRN3505 being a top yielder under optimal conditions, and CRN3549 being more stable to the stress experienced in the 2002/03 season.

In the West, SNK2551 was top with 3.83 t/ha, with CRN3549 second with 3.81t/ha. CRN3604 was third with 3.80 t/ha, and DKC80-10 was fourth with 3.77 t/ha. CRN3505 was sixth again, with 3.67 t/ha.
