New Country Lead for Monsanto South Africa Monsanto Africa integrates entire business

Effective 1 September 2011, Kobus Steenekamp will be the new Country Lead – Monsanto South Africa. 

As Country Lead South Africa, Kobus will be responsible for the all sales, marketing and product management functions and will be responsible for building and leading the row crops commercial organisation in South Africa (Seed and Chemistry). 

Kobus joined Monsanto in 2001 and most recently, Kobus was the Crop Protection Commercial Lead for Africa. In his new role, Kobus will report to Kobus Lindeque, Area Lead Monsanto Africa.

“To support Monsanto’s three-tier commitment towards sustainability (increasing yields, conserving our resources and adding value to farmer’s lives), we also decided to further integrate Monsanto’s Vegetable Seed, Crop Protection products and Row Crops Seeds in Africa.  We believe by doing this, we can enhance our efforts in the achievement of our goals.

Kobus Burger

Kobus Burger will continue in his current role as Monsanto Vegetables Commercial Lead for Africa and will report to Kobus Lindeque, Area Lead Monsanto Africa.  Kobus Burger joined Monsanto in 1998 and has filled many positions in Monsanto over the years in Africa, Asia and Europe.
