GENUITY® – the best decision

Monsanto’s range of advanced, innovative products for maize, cotton and soya are now branded under one name - GENUITY®.

As the number of biotechnology products grows, farmers need ways to identify traits with just a glance. Recognizing this challenge, Monsanto came up with a new trait brand name, GENUITY®.

The GENUITY® brand is Monsanto’s first brand uniting a family of traits under a single, easily-recognisible name that allows us to simplify our message and differentiate our traits from competitors. This is big news for farmers, because GENUITY® traits enable farmers to make their best decisions, quickly and easily.

The brand includes the following:

For maize:
GENUITY® YieldGard® II
GENUITY® Roundup Ready® Corn 2,
GENUITY® YieldGard® II met Roundup Ready® Corn 2.

For cotton:
GENUITY® Bollgard® II
GENUITY® Roundup Ready® Flex Cotton,
GENUITY® Bollgard® II met Roundup Ready® Flex Cotton.

For soya:
GENUITY® Roundup Ready® Soya.

The company has also designed petroglyph-like icons to quickly communicate trait information to farmers. The icon system is intended for use on packaging (bags and tags), seed guides and plot signs to bring clarity and simplicity to our growing family of traits. Rather than creating an individual logo for each combination of traits, Monsanto has built this new system that groups trait benefits based on four distinct categories:

  1. Herbicide Tolerance
  2. Insect Protection
  3. Weather Protection
  4. Increased Productivity
